Well known frequency products brand IQD has recently returned to the market after a ten year absence. The Somerset based manufacturer has been in plc ownership since 1998 under various brands including CMAC and more recently Rakon. However a recent management buy-in/buyout (BIMBO) led by previous managing director Paul Fear and finance director Duncan Ralph has resulted in the reintroduction of the IQD brand under the name IQD Frequency Products Ltd.

The business, which was originally started in 1973, offers a comprehensive range of frequency control products including quartz crystals, crystal oscillators, programmable oscillators, VCXOs, TCXOs, TCVCXOs, OCXOs and rubidium frequency standards and is well known for its 300+ page annual Data Book.

Paul Fear commented that "It is fantastic to be back at IQD after all this time. We have a great team of people here and ambitious growth plans for the business going forward". The new management team is planning significant investment in all areas of the business.

The business retains a close working partnership with Rakon and will continue to offer its customers Rakon's extensive range of high quality frequency control products. The Rakon range addresses the telecommunications, GPS and other markets and includes Semtech, Zarlink and many GPS chipset approved solutions.

IQD will again be exhibiting at the Electronica Exhibition in Munich from 11th to 14th November and look forward to welcoming customers old and new to their stand number 264 in hall B6.
