New range of AEC-Q200 qualified

Posted: 15th September 2010

Industrial quartz crystals

IQD is launching a new range of fully qualified to AEC-Q200 industrial quartz crystals at Electronica 2010. Produced in response to customer demand, especially in Germany, the new range comprises four different package sizes; the metal can 2-pad, IQXC-33 (11.4 x 4.9mm), the ceramic, 2- & 4-pad IQXC-30 (7.0 x 5.0mm) and IQXC-31 (5.0 x 3.2mm) and the ceramic 4-pad IQXC-32 (3.2 x 2.5mm). All four models are available with an extended operating temperature range of -20 to +125 degrees C in addition to the standard industrial temperature range of −40 to +85 degrees C.

This series of AEC-Q200 qualified products are particularly suitable for use in harsh environments. The Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) established AEC-Q200 ‘Stress Test Qualification for Passive Components’ to define the minimum stress test driven qualification requirements for passive electrical devices including frequency control products. Companies with end products that have to operate in challenging environments frequently prefer to specify qualified products as it gives them greater confidence in the standard of design and build in a market where cost is so often the key driver.

The new range is particularly suited to applications such as industrial keyless entry, drive controls, gearboxes, transmission systems, process control applications or anywhere where an extended operating temperature range is required.

All four devices are available loose (bulk) in bags of 100 or on tape and reel (1K per reel).

Further details will be available at IQD’s stand 215 in Hall B5 at Electronica 2010.
