IQD launches smallest OCXO in the world

Posted: 9th November 2010

World's smallest surface mount OCXO

IQD will be launching what they believe to be the world’s smallest surface mount OCXO at Electronica 2010. Developed by Rakon, one of IQD’s strategic technology partners, the new OCXO offers previously unheard of performance in such a compact style. With stabilities down to +/-20ppb over an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C and measuring only 9.7x 7.5 x 4.1mm, the new IQOV-40 series offers OCXO performance in TCXO size.

Frequency can be specified anywhere between 5MHz and 50MHz with standard frequencies of 10MHz, 12.8MHz, 19.2MHz and 20MHz being available on short lead times. These common frequencies makes the new IQOV-40 series eminently suitable for applications such as Digital Signal Processors, Telecommunications Transmission Hubs, Cellular base stations as well as high grade test equipment.

The IQOV-40 series offers great flexibility; multiple versions allow operation with either a 3.3V or a 5V power supply and either a clipped sine wave or HCMOS output. Emphasising this class leading performance is the excellent phase noise figures being typically -125dBc/Hz at 100Hz away from carrier and -150dBc/Hz at 100kHz away from carrier. In addition, current consumption is less than 400mW steady state and the all important frequency stability just +/-10ppb over the commercial temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees C. This new OCXO offers truly class leading performance that will revolutionise the market.

Further details will be available at IQD’s stand 215 in Hall B5 at Electronica 2010.
