National Apprenticeship Week at IQD

At IQD we’ve appreciated the mutually beneficial arrangement of apprenticeships for a long time. Offering real-life working opportunities to young people working towards valuable accreditations whilst at college.
It’s a win:win! The apprentice learns AND earns at the same time – whilst we gain a trained member of the team.
Currently, at IQD we are helping two students work through their apprenticeships; both from Yeovil College, Niamh is a Business Admin Apprentice, and Joseph is an IT apprentice…
Niamh has worked within our Purchasing Team since September 2021.
“I’m studying a Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship with Yeovil College and I aim to complete the course by May 2023.
I have always been interested in Business as a school subject however working in one and having firsthand experience in how a business works is a lot more engaging than just hearing about it. In addition, the work I do within my apprenticeship is often linked with my everyday job and therefore I can apply my experience in my job to the coursework, and vice versa. IQD has been a great placement for me, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far and have made friends along the way.
In the future I hope to gain my qualification in CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement in Supply) and become a buyer for IQD.”
Joseph has recently started with IQD in our IT department whilst studying for his Digital Design, Production & Development T-Level at Yeovil College. He’ll be working alongside, and learning from, our web developers until the end of summer.
